Sessions and Fees

  • Frequency – Sessions are one to one, usually on a weekly basis on the same day and at the same time each week. I also work on a fortnightly basis with some clients.
  • Number of sessions – this varies and is always up to you to decide.  Some clients have a few sessions while others may want more long term therapy, there is no set number. However, for therapeutic reasons, I would recommend at least six sessions.
  • Availability – Day time appointments are available between 8am and 5pm on weekdays.
  • Coronavirus and working online – You do not need to be a ‘techy’ to work online, all you need is a computer with a webcam and microphone. However, when working remotely it is important that clients have a room that is private and where they will not be interrupted.

Locations – Bury St Edmunds and Walsham-le-Willows

I use a counselling room located in the centre of Bury St Edmunds, 5 minutes walk from the train station (IP32). I also have a consulting room at my home in the quiet village of Walsham-le-Willows (IP31). Please note that at the present time I am only working online or via telephone.

My fees are £45 per session. However, lower rates are available eg for students and this can be discussed and agreed in the first session. Sessions are for 50 minutes. The first session is a no obligation assessment session where we can meet each other and talk about the issues and concerns that have brought you to counselling.  There is no need for you to decide during this session whether you wish to proceed with counselling or not. This first session will be at the reduced rate of £35.00.

Reduced rates are available for student/trainee counsellors.

Confidentiality Agreement

All sessions are confidential. During the initial assessment session I will discuss the confidentiality agreement with you.

Cancellation Policy

I understand that there may be the need to cancel sessions from time to time due to holidays, illness or other commitments. I would ask that you give 24 hours notice of any cancellations.
